The history of the department's development began in July 1960, when a nurse-anesthetist Anna Ignatievna Garelik performed mask oxygen-ether anesthesia on the "Krasnogvardeets" apparatus by herself, but the resuscitation-anesthesia department was officially opened in January 1971. The first head of the A&E department was Valentin Aleksandrovich Rudy.

Our department's work is organized by one round-the-clock anesthesiologist and resuscitation post, and two posts of nurses plus a post of junior staff (working hours 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.).

Anesthesia care in the hospital was provided by eight teams in the specialized surgical departments (working time 8.30-16-00) and one round-the-clock anesthesia team of anesthesiologist-resuscitator and nurse-anesthetist (working time 16.00-8.30).

The department is equipped with a compressed air and vacuum ventilation system, as well as oxygen supply for patients. The department is equipped with modern anesthesia and respiratory equipment (MK-1-2 with hemodynamic and respiratory monitor, VIAN-3 (turbo) . hemodynamic monitors: "Mildray900",. "Yutas-300", respiratory monitors "Datex-Ohmeda", defibrillator with monitor "Welh Allyn" PIC-40.
