The department provides highly qualified medical and diagnostic assistance, both in the case of planned and emergency hospitalization, to patients with purulent diseases, as well as diseases of the peripheral vascular system.
Historically, the beginning of the work of the department is associated with the opening of the hospital in Oct 1922.
The department serves 9 city's ambulances for purulent surgery and 10 for outpatient surgery.
Every year, up to 3,000 patients are treated in the department, more than 2,200 surgical interventions are performed.
The department performs laparoscopic operations:
The department performs cosmetic surgeries on the face, anterior abdominal wall, introduced laser technologies for the treatment of varicose veins, hemorrhoids, and benign skin formations.
On 2010, on the basis of the department, the City Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery was established, in which, due to the use of one-day surgery technologies, it was possible to reduce the duration of inpatient treatment.

During surgery, unforeseen circumstances may arise in which the course of the operation may be altered by physicians at their discretion.
