The 11th City Clinical Hospital of Minsk offers hip replacement using the AMIS method, in which muscles, tendons and nerves are not injured, and joint replacement is performed through an anterior approach (incision) using modern Swiss equipment.

This operation is one of the most gentle surgical methods for hip replacement operations. With this surgical procedure, muscles, tendons and nerves are not injured. The tissues are moved apart and supported during surgery, eliminating the need for dissection. After surgery, the muscles do not need to heal and hold the artificial joint stably.

Thanks to the new technology you get the following benefits:

  • Abbreviated Rehabilitation: Rehabilitation can usually begin on the day of surgery or the day after your doctor's approval, based on your post-operative condition.
  • Shorter hospital stay: The AMIS technique usually significantly reduces the length of hospital stay.
  • Small scar on the skin: the AMIS method allows for minimal access.
  • Faster return to daily activities: The AMIS technique allows you to return to daily activities in a shorter time.
  • Less Blood Loss: Preserving muscle and blood vessels potentially reduces blood loss.
  • The duration of surgery takes on average 45 minutes.
  • Reduced risk of dislocation: reduced incidence of dislocation of the endoprosthesis head.

The next day after the operation, the patient is allowed to stand up independently (under the supervision of the attending physician or exercise therapy instructor), which makes it possible to independently care for himself without additional assistance. Also, on the second day after surgery using the AMIS method, the patient can lie not only on his back, but also on his side.

Postoperative rehabilitation is carried out according to standard programs, daily medical rounds and treatment algorithms guarantee comprehensive rehabilitation.

After discharge, it is recommended to undergo a rehabilitation course under the supervision of a physiotherapist and surgeon. It has been noted that older patients recover much faster and experience less pain after AMIS joint replacement surgery.

When performing hip replacement using the AMIS method, a faster return to everyday life becomes possible, and there is no postoperative pelvic instability.
